Amy Fisher was on the frontlines of responding to land contamination issues during Maine’s PFAS contamination crisis. She was serving as President and CEO of Maine Farmland Trust where she became known for centering the needs of impacted farmers, advocating for funding for farmer safety nets and research, and grounding organizational and policy responses in the science and long-term solutions. She has more than twenty years of experience working on climate, conservation, and food issues across nonprofits and academia. Amy is currently working to elect Kamala Harris as president by organizing Waldo County as a field organizer with the Maine Democratic Party and supporting the launch of start-up Zero Energy Homes, a company seeking to triple solve for Maine’s climate, housing affordability, and rural economic development challenges. Zero Energy Homes is currently building its first demonstration home in Searsport, Maine, and will be manufacturing affordable, net zero energy homes, made with 80-90% sustainably sourced Maine forest products, in an employee-owned business model. She is a graduate of Bates College and holds an MBA from Boston University focused on public and nonprofit management.
