David Foss is a hydrogeologist with over thirty years of experience conducting and managing environmental assessment, cleanup, and redevelopment at brownfields sites. He is a certified professional geologist and a Massachusetts Licensed Site Professional. Prior to joining the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection in 2022, Foss was an environmental consultant who worked with public and private stakeholders, including more than forty Massachusetts municipalities. Foss has expertise working with brownfields incentive programs, funding, and policy. In addition to working directly for municipalities, he has collaborated with regional planning agencies, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, and MassDevelopment to promote redevelopment with a focus on areas with environmental justice concerns.
