Upon graduating with an M.A. in public history in 2014 from Northeastern University, Doneeca Thurston became a Creative Engagement Producer at the Peabody Essex Museum (PEM). After five years and hundreds of public programs enriching the PEM and Salem communities, Doneeca became the first Executive Director of color for the Lynn Museum/LynnArts. Growing up in Lynn, Doneeca has always set her sights on opportunities to engage her home city.
She is currently focusing on elevating community voices, developing partnerships, and expanding the Lynn Museum/LynnArts exhibition and program offerings. Outside of her museum work, Doneeca enjoys volunteering, camping with her partner and rescue pup, and trying out new recipes at home.
