Jamie Silvestri holds a MA in Expressive Therapy, a BA in Fine Arts, and is a registered art therapist. Silvestri has twenty-nine years of both community and psychiatric care experience working with inner city youth, people living with AIDS, youth, women and men in corrections, and children and adolescents living with mental illness. In 2004, Silvestri founded ArtVan and was the executive director from its inception to 2021, when she transitioned to program director. As program director and primary art therapist, Silvestri is focused on leading program staff in the art therapy approach to trauma and healing within the communities ArtVan serves.
