Kristin Uiterwyk is the Director of the Urban Harbors Institute at UMass Boston, where she oversees interdisciplinary research and public service projects addressing ocean and coastal issues. With more than two decades of experience, Kristin specializes in policy and regulatory analysis, harbor and natural resource management planning, survey research, GIS analysis, community engagement, and public education.
Her work spans a wide range of topics, including climate change adaptation, sustainable fisheries, marine debris, working waterfronts, and economic development in coastal communities.
With a strong commitment to research, sustainability, and community engagement, Kristin is dedicated to helping navigate the complex realities of climate change, environmental stewardship, and economic resilience.
